Most of you know me as an idiot, occasionally as a niche fansubber. I've been at it since 2019, or rather, since 2022, when I actually started taking it seriously. Now it's four years later, and if my spreadsheet is to be believed, I've worked on the equivalent of 1,200 episodes (or 500 hours) of anime , as a timer, translator, typesetter, or QC, across 230 titles . When I look back at all those projects, I think I feel something like a father's pride. I've always believed in the "friends we make along the way" school of thought, and what a journey it has been. Episode 0 has this strange number because it was originally released as a limited-edition video for the winners of some Super Famicom lottery in late 1993. Later, on December 28, 1998, it was released again as “Vol.0” for general sale when the rest of the OVA was released. While the video looks excellent and sexy, and blows the previously existing 2008 vintage 240p VHS rip out of the water, the audio is so muffled that even the ancient VHS rips have unironically superior MP3 sound. Enter the Toei preservation culture. Safe to assume they binned the masters/audio reels, and this remaster was restored from optical audio or some equally shitty source.
