Baribari Densetsu OVA + Movie [Final]
Nyaa | DDL (movie only) | Subs only | AniDB
Originally conceived as an excuse to make a nyaa shitpost using a funny group tag, this project soon deteriorated into something nobody saw coming, and half of the people contributing their names' first letters to said funny tag never showed up. But I won't get ahead of my first entry in the detailed journal of events leading to that:
- Baribari brought up in the suggestions channel. Some jump on-board for the fun of it, including some who are made to. Trying to sneak my way into the [DILDOs] tag as well.
- Spent 30 minutes explaining to Marty why the OVA needs to be done first. Marty finally gets his VHS delivered and captured. Here goes nothing.
- Character from Kansai makes an appearance. Playing Russian roulette after every line. Also, man, this girl is literally TougeWolf. My head hurts, but at least it's over and not my problem anymore. The next day, an SDBD with both the OVAs and the Movie on it are announced, although as expensive as a moon; Marty realizes he bought the VHS for nothing; we commit a shinjuu.
- Marty buys and Tax captures a cheap as bread crumbles VHD with the OVAs, Touge translation checks ep1 (Removing my every reference to him and adding a reference to me, not to mention all the Britishisms and slurs effaced! Preposterous, sir!), I finish episode 2.
- Touge buys {what a fucking chad} and Skr captures a cheap as dirt BD, Marty realizes he bought both the VHD and VHS for nothing, finishes himself off after our unsuccessful shinjuu.
Touge accidentally loses the scripts and nobody has any backups. To make up for this loss, we urgently OCR ARR's translation for the movie and sticking our credits on it. Beautiful.
With the completion of this OVA, TougeWolf had become a little more schizo and poorer because we subjected him to reading my unedited scripts, I had become a little more schizo because realistically, there's no going back for me. Touge is credited with "Translation Checking" for this release, but he is essentially the one behind this whole translation.
What else is there to add? The OVA covers ~10 volumes of the OG manga, but with huge ass gaps. Also, mid af if you don't count the ending theme for the movie version. 😎
