Get it on nyaa. Joint Shotgun wedding with SouthWindSubs. A year after I relinquished this project, I got bored again and proposed to TLC it English against Japanese (this is an important thing to note because some gigabrain had evidently come up with a bright idea to TLC it against a Spanish fansub, which is effectively a guesslation for every line that's more complicated than "doushite?", while being unable to spot even obvious mistakes in English). Just putting in my coin for the time when DarkWispers eventually scrub this fansub, because then they at least won't have to TLC it, only rephrase/retime/reencode/reshoot themselves in the head.  Also doing it with [sorcery] tag because SWS administration didn't find my own name family-friendly enough. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  The fact me and Peter managed to negotiate this through is even more amazing, considering someone in SWS had evidently seen and taken closely my April fools vid: 

Get it on nyaa .  Brought to you by our friend WOWmd, who bought and captured a new VHS copy of the ova. The news came as a big surprise, but not an unwelcome one at that, as just the other day, I added this: to the status page  on account of this ova.  The subs are the from our last year's release, translated by me, QCed by Ziusudra. I was originally planning to only do a superficial retiming to WOWmd's new VHS rip, but as it usually happens to me, because I subbed this over a year ago and was already out of the tunnel vision, I managed to find quite a few things I decided to redo or TLC since the sound on the new rip is also much clearer. Plus, tyerggh uploaded the full source manga to Nyaa recently. Other updates to the sub include a couple of lazily typeset lines and the added translation of the only song in the episode - "Toki Shozou's Blues" which is actually quite good.  Boy, I gotta say, I never really had a chance to appreciate how beautiful this show is

Get it on nyaa.  Long story short, Marty started enjoying this QC way more due to reaching the point in the series that I had been TLing by the time he joined the project, hence we get a new batch only a month later. To be perfectly honest, I'm quite horrified by Marty's pace nowadays, because I myself hadn't done an episode in a month due to getting too excited for other projects, and this release means I'm gonna have to return in Taruruuto land soon-ish.  New notes for those eps:  Episodes 16-20 • Ep17: Taruno Raibaru/Rival's name is such a transparent pun that I don't even have to explain it, but it gives me the gripes, how much they reaffirm that spelling, also with kanji, rendering it untranslatable on multiple levels.  • Episode 19 features a parody manga that Honmaru is reading. https://nyaa.si/view/1698069   Episode 1 is redone from the ground; episode 2 is new.  I regret everything, but my conscience can't afford a project to be hanging on me with a "dropped" status on AniDB.  I half-assed episode 1 back in 2020 (with nevertheless unexpected results: https://i1.wp.com/i122.fastpic.org/big/2023/0728/db/97eacd3af1d370dabaffd46778c346db.png?ssl=1), holding this series as my pet project ever since then due to how it beckoned me with its uniqueness and nerdiness. Now, with full OG manga on my hands, this prospect finally seemed feasible, but then... the manga and anime turned out to have less in common than what I would have liked, often only sharing separate scenes or even lines, randomly scattered all over the 4 volumes.  I'll try to release this series as one big blob, the same way I did with Futari no Lotte (speaking of similarities, also no keyframe snapping for VHS reasons here), even though I may or may not have overestimated my abilities

To put it simply, it was infuriating to me and Ziu that this piece of Nippon ani OVA is still forgotten and obscured. So it'll be forgotten and obscured with v2 subs now.  Video is as crippled as you would expect from a 474x340p VHS rip from ARR.
