Requests

(Previously known as future projects, but since most of those were fulfilled, the page was no longer relevant)

First off, I don't take RyzakiT-style "throwing shit at the wall" blind requests. I only dabble in stuff that seems interesting or easy to sub to me personally. My criteria are rather low:
  • The show must not have an official HD-remaster. Those are in immediate danger of being licensed at all times.
  • Even if the show only has a DVD master, it has to be fairly obscure/out of the way/unsellable/unpopular, since the licensors still consider those a fair ball. Case in point: Ace wo Nerae OVAs.
  • Naturally, shows made by long-defunct companies are exempted from this rule, since obtaining licensing rights for those should be impossible, if I'm not mistaken.
  • If you want me to do your requested show for free, it will need to fulfill all of the above requirements, have a decent video source (not ARR-tier), and you'll have to help on it yourself (editing, QC, TLC, typesetting). Only then I might consider it.
  • You can also commission me directly and bypass all the aforementioned requirements, via Boosty. Just make sure to contact me first to discuss the pricing.
Shows that I currently consider of interest myself, but can't start for this or that reason:
  1. Souya Monogatari - interesting premises, but nothing spectacular. The existing raw is also terrible.
  2. Totsugeki! Pappara Tai - simply because I want to finish it.
  3. Happyakuyachou Hyouri Kewaishi - seems obscure enough to stay under the radar for the licensors, and is also reminiscent of MNKN.
  4. TBD

    1. Hard no. From working on the movie, I know that the characters are godugly and the story is repetitive and dull. That's even before I mention its gargantuan size.

  6. Maybe you could give Sasuga No Sarutobi a chance?

    1. Looks mid and the staff is nothing promising either. But to be fair, I haven't seen it either, so who knows.

    2. "Although it hasn’t been remembered to the same degree, Sasuga no Sarutobi is, alongside Urusei Yatsura, among the most important anime series of the early 80s. Like its more famous contemporary, Sarutobi was a long-running, episodic comedy which would set the tone for the entire decade’s animation philosophy thanks to the extensive contributions of studios such as Anime R, Giants and Animaru-Ya." [animetudes]

At least in this regard, it's a pity that Sasuga No Sarutobi has got no subtitles so far.
