Milestones

May 2019 - Started with translating Ashita no Joe from English into an irrelevant language because wanted to show it to my friends. Having finished with it in August, felt confident so decided to give it a try with translating from Japanese, doing one episode of Animentary Ketsudan. Worst mistake of my life. After that, did a bunch of commissioned translations into the irrelevant languages while studying Japanese. 

June 2020 - Felt confident enough to switch to bilingual fansubbing from Japanese into both English and the irrelevant language. Started Ace wo Nerae! Final Stage this way. After that, did a bunch more commissioned translations from JP into irrelevant language, including the first few episodes of Pachislo Kizoku Gin and Totsugeki! Pappara-tai, first episode of Manga Nihon Keizai Nyuumon and Burning Blood. Those were still relatively terrible. 

February 2021 - Switched to subbing into English only - fuck irrelevant languages. Finished AWN: Final Stage, then retired due to burnout. Continued to work on my English and Japanese and doing occasional commissions into irrelevant language. 

January 2022 - Un-retired with Shiritsu Tantei: Toki Shouzou no Trouble Note: Hard & Loose. Picked it mostly for target practice. After that, continued with Pachislo Kizoku Gin, also for target practice and because I kinda already did the first 6 episodes which is like 1/4 of the show, so might as well finish it. Midway into Pachislo Kizoku Gin, discovered my old subs for AWN suck balls. As such, I embarked on the quest of remaking them, but got carried away and coincidentally also remade TV1 and OVA1. Started doing my first translations for Orphan as I had long been their devoted follower. 

August 2023 - In the preceeding year, finished Pachislo Kizoku Gin, Ace wo Nerae, The Siamese: First Mission, Guskou Budori no Denki, Watashi to Watashi: Futari no Lotte, Baribari Densetsu (for Inka), as well as some more OVAs for Orphan. Picked up Magical Taruruuto-kun in collaboration with Marty and Aurelius, picked up Haikara-san ga Tooru in collaboration with Sorcery but only as a timer, picked up Animentary: Ketsudan, also in collaboration with Sorcery. Having accumulated a backlog of at least 10 episodes of every show I'm involved in, picked up Manga Nihon Keizai Nyuumon and proposed a collaboration to SouthWindSubs, seeing how their release of Minami no Niji no Lucy had been stalled for a whole year now. Also created this blog for some reason. 

May 2024 - Took a two months break for work, in the meantime started TLCing Haikara-san, QCing WMTs for Darkonius & Pushmpillu, found more staff to work on Taruruuto, Ningen Kakumei, and MNKN. Had the most productive year so far, with Collectr being constantly swamped with work.

June of 2025 - Had the most productive in the number of individual OVAs done year, finished and released Animentary: Ketsudan and Magical Taruruuto-kun, finished the main work on Ningen Kakumei, still waiting for WOWmd to capture Manga Nihon Keizai Nyuumon, and our editors to finish Haikara-san ga Tooru, tearing through PPP's raws, and other OVAs, now without any consideration of their quality or the need to be subbed at all.

Autumn of 2026 - Retired from active fansubbing before killing myself, hopefully.
