This show was deservedly forgotten for all these years: it’s another one from the obnoxious 90-s “the war between two powerful ESP factions that can destroy the earth, sealed a Millenia ago, is renewed as the “chosen ones” from both factions are reincarnated in the bodies of ordinary Japanese high school students, with Yun Kouga on the staff, and a bit of yaoi on the side” genre, overused ad nauseum in the Japanese media of the time. In the first 20 minutes it presents you with 40 different characters, filled with vanity, pathos, and superpowers, who all look, sound and feel more or less the same and are utterly unmemorable in their personalities, because they all only appear for a minute to say their three most pretentious and cheesiest lines and disappear until the next episode, all while expecting you to take this show seriously and give a shit.
It’s a steaming mess that is impossible to make sense of, or even stay awake while watching. I have personally worked on at least 3 other shows (Genji Part 1, Ryokunohara Labyrinth, Elementalors) of the same essence, and one show that successfully parodied it (Bakuen Campus Guardress). That’s how much everyone was fed up with that cliche. I can guarantee you that if you’ve seen any of the four shows above, you’ve seen them all. To this show’s credit, at least it was easier to translate than Genji.
This OVA is obviously a massive waste of everyone’s time, therefore I’ve put together a massively slapdash translation that Darkonius agreed to look on for some reason, and spent 2.5 weeks unfucking. That said, we’re chronically short on QCs and editors, so don’t hesitate to reach out to me on Discord if you can read or write passable English (not necessary), or I’ll kill myself.
